We are always looking up to God for guidance, and living out through serving others! We have a heart for reaching out to people and serving them with Jesus' love. We have a rich history of outreach and serving both in our local neighborhood, and around the world.
Every month there is a "Monthly Mission" and during that month we pray, support and provide for a designated mission. We also collect food for local food pantries year-round and have a monthly theme for this collection also.
2011 Monthly Missions:
January: Blankets/pillows for folks who are homeless
February: Guatemala Medicine collection and Food Collection of “Warm Your Tummy” items (e.g. soups, hot chocolate, oatmeal, etc.)
March: Bears on Patrol and Food Collection of green-colored food items in honor of St Patrick’s Day (e.g. green beans, peas, spinach, etc.)
April: Jail Ministry and Collection of Paper Goods/Cleaning Supplies
May: Camp Scholarships and Food Collection of kid-friendly items and snacks (e.g. SpaghettiO's, canned fruit, etc.)
June: Local Outreach (Brightwood and Fletcher Place) and Food Collection of kid-friendly items and snacks
July: School Supplies for our teachers and Food Collection of basic staple items
August: Care Packages for our college students and Collection of Hygiene items
September: Guatemala Feeding and Christian School Program and Collection of Hispanic foods
October: UMCOR/Global Outreach and Collection of Asian foods
November: Food Pantry Collection with emphasis on holiday foods and gift cards from Kroger/Walmart
December: Heifer Int’l and Larue Carter Christmas gifts for patients and Food Collection with emphasis on holiday foods gift cards from Kroger/Walmart
Throughout the year we partner with Brightwood Community Center, located on the east side of Indianapolis and Fletcher Place Community Center, located in Fountain Square providing meals for folks in the community.
In the event of tragedies both in the United States and globally we provide financial support for UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief)
